Drunk Driver Nabbed For DUI At Over 2 Times Legal Limit In Wilton, Police Say

A 45-year-old man faces drunk driving charges after being caught at more than twice the legal limit in Fairfield County, police said.

The man was arrested on Monday, Feb. 12 on drunk driving charges in Wilton.

According to the Wilton Police Department, on the day of Meija-Delpinal's arrest at around 1:45 a.m., officers pulled over a black 2020 Ford F-150 truck that had been traveling east on Grumman Hill Road. 

The driver, identified as Carlos Meija-Delpinal, a resident of Wilton, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and admitted to drinking before driving. He then failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI, police said.

His blood alcohol level was later determined to be 0.1797 and 0.1789 consecutively, according to the department. 

Meija-Delpinal was charged with DUI and allowed to pay 10 percent of his $250 bond. He will appear in Stamford Superior Court on Friday, Feb. 23.
